Bounce

Transient were my early years; lugged around, taught nothing of stability,

figuring life myself—all of it... well, the important things,

so here I am, still figuring, but mastering real-world math.

Figured numbers are arbitrary and don't always add up,

well, maybe I'm not so good at math,

but I'll keep working the numbers

until they're stable,

until the answers are clear,

and mine,

then I'll take the math to my grave.

My last laugh,

and well deserved.

A man reading a book in soft, warm lighting.

I've failed if everyone loves my writing.

If my writing makes one person think, I've succeeded.

A person holding an umbrella stands by a railing on a rainy day.

Don't wait for others. Those who want you will come. And they will hurry.
